PERIS+TORAL arquitectes

The architecture firm PERIS+TORAL ARQUITECTES, based in Barcelona and founded by Marta Peris and José Toral, is dedicated to researching new ways of living associated with innovative construction methods. Their focus is on addressing the challenges of the climate emergency and housing.
José Toral works as an associate professor in the Department of Architectural Projects at the ETSAB UPC, specializing in the study of public space and urban projects. Marta Peris, on the other hand, holds the position of lecturer at the ETSAB. She presented her PhD in 2016, titled "The Japanese House Through the Films of Yasujiro Ozu," published in 2019 under the title "Ozu's House."
They are both guests professor at the EPFL Laussane FS24 – SS25 Their work has been recognized with the RIBA International Awards for Excellence2024, the Spanish Architecture Award CSCAE 2022, and they were finalists for the EU MIES AWARD 2022. Their works have been exhibited at the Cité de l'Architecture in PARIS 2022, Best Architecture Exhibition Spain-Korea SEOUL 2021, in the Spanish Pavilion of the Venice Biennale 2016, at the UIA TOKYO 2011, among others. Both their works and their writings have been widely published in national and international journals and media.
